Motorcycle Wheel Manufacturing Capability — Four Constructions, One Controlled Process
FLEXIMOTO's motorcycle wheel manufacturing has run since 2017, building on automotive-parts experience going back to 2014. Forged, cast, laced and magnesium forged wheels are all made to order — and every one follows the same path: a 3D drawing you approve, production to that drawing, inspection against it, and tracked delivery with export and import clearance handled.
Motorcycle Wheel Manufacturing: What Can FLEXIMOTO Make?
Four wheel constructions cover everything from one-off race builds to dealer volume programs. Each is built to order in your dimensions, spoke design, finish and branding.
| Construction | Material | How It's Made | Typical Use | Timing Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Forged | 6061-T6 aluminum | Forged billet, CNC machined to the approved design | Sportbikes, performance street, premium custom | 25–30 days after drawing approval |
| Magnesium forged | AZ80 magnesium alloy | Forged billet, machined, protective surface finishing | Racing, track programs, ultra-light builds | 25–30 days after drawing approval |
| Laced | 7-series aluminum rim + stainless-steel spokes | Hub, rim and spokes laced to your pattern, tensioned and trued | Cruisers, adventure, classic and retro | 25–30 days after drawing approval |
| Cast | A356.1 aluminum | Mold-cast, then machined to final dimensions | Dealer volume, OEM-style runs, scooters | New design: mold + sample ≈ 2 months extra |

How Is Each Wheel Type Made?
Different constructions, different routes — but every route starts from your approved 3D drawing and ends with inspection against it.
Forged 6061-T6 Aluminum
- Forged 6061-T6 billet selected for your wheel size
- CNC machined to the spoke design, hub and fitment interfaces on your drawing
- Finished — anodizing, paint or machined faces — with engraved branding if specified
- Checked against the approved drawing and photographed for your approval
Magnesium Forged AZ80
- Forged AZ80 magnesium billet — about one-third lighter than aluminum by density
- Machined to the approved design and fitment interfaces
- Protective surface finishing on every set, specified for your application
- Checked against the approved drawing and photographed for your approval
Laced — 7-Series Rim + Stainless Spokes
- Hub machined to your model's axle, rotor, drive and ABS interfaces
- 7-series aluminum rim and stainless-steel spokes in your size, count and finish
- Laced to your pattern, tensioned and trued
- Checked against the approved drawing and photographed for your approval
Cast A356.1 Aluminum
- Existing design — or a new mold developed and sampled (about 2 months)
- A356.1 aluminum cast, then machined to final dimensions
- Finished to a batch-consistent standard across the whole run
- Checked against the approved drawing and photographed for your approval
What Can Be Customized?
Everything that makes the wheel yours — and everything that makes it fit. Fitment interfaces are engineered per model and year, not assumed from a catalog.
Dimensions
Rim diameter and width, front and rear, specified to your model and tire choice — including wide-rear and big-front projects quoted per project.
Spoke design
Your own pattern, a design developed with you, or one of our existing designs adapted to your model. Laced wheels: lacing pattern and spoke count.
Finish
Anodizing, paint and machined finishes, matched to your reference sample or program palette.
Branding
Engraved logos and product marking, plus packaging labeled to your requirements for OEM & private-label programs.
Hub & drive interfaces
Axle and bearing seats, rotor mounting, cush drive and sprocket carrier, belt pulley, shaft final drive and single-sided mounts — per model.
Electronics provision
ABS sensor ring accommodation built into the wheel spec so ABS and traction systems keep their inputs.

How Is Every Order Controlled From Drawing to Delivery?
Six steps, each with a clear gate. Nothing moves to the next step until the gate is passed — and the two most important gates are yours to approve.
Fitment & 3D Drawing
Your model, year, sizes and design direction become a 3D drawing showing design, dimensions, interfaces, finish and logo placement.
Gate: you approve the drawingProduction
Wheels are produced to the approved drawing — typically 25–30 days, confirmed per project. New cast molds add about 2 months, including sample approval.
Gate: built to the approved drawing onlyInspection
Finished wheels are checked against the approved drawing and photographed so you can see the actual wheels before they leave.

Export-grade packaging protects every wheelset for international freight, labeled to your requirements.

Export clearance in China and import clearance in your country are handled for you.

Built Around the Bikes Your Customers Ride
Popular platforms first. For the most popular models — Harley-Davidson Touring and Softail, BMW R nineT and GS, Ducati Panigale, Honda X-ADV, Yamaha R-series and TMAX, Kawasaki Z900RS, Triumph Speed Triple and more — fitment data is usually already on file, which keeps quoting fast and accurate.
Less common models. Send the model, year and photos or measurements of your current wheel. We confirm whether reliable fitment data is available before quoting — so you never pay for a wheel that was guessed.
Beyond wheels. Suspension, CNC billet parts and titanium hardware are supplied through vetted partner factories, so a full build can ship on one order with one point of contact.
What we do — and don't — claim
This page describes how orders are actually run. Certification and test documentation varies by product line, so we don't print certificate logos here: if your market requires certificates such as JWL or DOT, state it in your quote request and we will confirm what is available for your project before you order.
Manufacturing Capability — Frequently Asked Questions
What types of motorcycle wheels can FLEXIMOTO manufacture?
Four constructions: forged 6061-T6 aluminum, cast A356.1 aluminum, laced wheels with 7-series aluminum rims and stainless-steel spokes, and magnesium forged AZ80. Each is built to order in your dimensions, spoke design, finish and branding.
What is the minimum order and how long does production take?
The minimum order is one set. Production typically takes 25–30 days after you approve the final 3D drawing, confirmed per project. A new cast design needs a mold, which adds about 2 months for mold development and sample approval.
How is quality checked before shipment?
Every finished wheel is checked against the 3D drawing you approved, and photographed for your approval before it is released for packing and shipment. Production does not start until you have signed off that drawing.
Can you build wheels for my specific motorcycle model?
For the most popular models we usually have fitment data on file. For less common models, send the model, year and photos or measurements of your current wheel, and we confirm whether reliable fitment data is available before quoting. Axle, hub, rotor, drive and ABS interfaces are all confirmed on the 3D drawing.
Do your wheels come with certification and a warranty?
Every custom wheel carries a 3-year structural warranty and a 1-year finish warranty; damage from accidents, improper installation, misuse or modification is excluded. Certification and test documentation varies by product line — if your market requires certificates such as JWL or DOT, state it in your quote request and we will confirm what is available for your project.
Put the Process to Work on Your Project
Send your bike model and year, wheel type, sizes, finish, quantity and destination. Once your details are complete, a quote with specs, pricing and lead time comes back within 48 working hours.
